I only recently discovered the immense variety of irises that there are.
I have only one, a purple one that has been moved around my garden so many times. At last it is in a spot it likes, and has rewarded me with lots of flowers this year. It likes wet feet it seems..!

Irises like the sibirica or the flag iris enjoy our temperatures, but bearded irises are not keen on the cold. I have one which has survived after a few years. But I love irises and love to paint them.

Thank you so much for commenting on all my blogs today, Sheila. I truly appreciate it.

I love the hibred irises - all the wonderful and wacky colors they can come up with. However, my favorite is the old-fashioned purple variety. They're the ones that smell so good. The hibreds cannot compete in my mind. Beautiful photos, as usual, W.G.

Ow, I love Bearded Irises, they are the most beautiful to me. I have some pink ones that bring me a lot of happiness each May when they bloom. Thank you for sharing these photos from the flower show. I had no idea so many colors were available, it is hard to pick a favorite, just beautiful.
